Further delays have occurred due to supply lead problems on external render materials and manufacturing defects on windows. The contractor has made up some time by working days through the holiday period. The main roof is now tiled. The walls to the rear extension are up to first floor level. Surrounds to window openings have been boxed out and waterproofed to accommodate the eventual application of the external wall insulation and render. The roof and first floor insulation has been installed to the existing building.

The external walls have a minimal cavity only up to ground floor window cill level. Many partitions were found to be unstable, with no door lintels, so new walls have had to be constructed.
